Finding the Perfect Pair: A Guide to Jeans!

Finding the Perfect Pair: A Guide to Jeans!

Get a head start on your shopping experience with us as we help you discover jeans from across all of our in store brands and find what is right for you. At Back to Basic's Western Wear we pride ourselves on having a wide variety of denim jean options for both men, women and children. In this article, we will be focusing on men and women jean options. We will dive into all of our denim brands; evaluating each cut and fit while comparing differences among each brand.

Our Jean Brands

We carry a wide range of jean brands at Back to Basic's! This list is for both men and women at our in person location. This list may vary online:

  • Cinch

  • Wrangler

  • Rock and Roll Denim

  • Ariat

  • Kimes Ranch

These brands have been a staple in our store for many years with the new introduction of Kimes Ranch. We love that each of these brands offer different options to meet different needs! Cinch is tried and true among our rodeo friends. Wrangler has been in our store since we opened and is widely known among all of our customers. Rock and Roll Denim is Dale Brisby's favorite but is popular for their diverse colors, zany patterns and detail oriented options. Ariat offers great options for the workforce and is popular among all age groups! Kimes Ranch is known for their ring spun cotton that will last you a lifetime and is USA made. You truly cannot go wrong with any of these brands!

Cuts of Denim

Now let's break this list down! Each brand comes in multiple different cuts. This list will include jeans that are always in stock (as of March, 2024) meaning each brand has these cuts all year-round. Do keep in mind, that many seasonal options rotate through our store (different colors and patterns) often and many new styles are added to our inventory all year-long!

Something important to keep in mind, is each brand and jean will differ slightly, so if you do not like a boot cut fit in one brand -do not give up- simply try another fit and/or brand!

Find your Fit

Every brand also has a multitude of fits that we love! While we cannot encompass every fit each brand offers, we will cover our most popular options looking further into what each fit and cut means. Let's take a look at these fit guides for both men and women, courtesy of Ariat Men's and Ariat Women's.

Women's Ariat Fit Guide:

First, take note to the differences compared to our Rock and Roll Denim chart but furthermore the differences in the Men and Women charts. Something we would like to highlight for women is the size comparison chart (Ariat vs. Australian sizes but commonly known as junior sizes in the US (see below)).

While these charts are very helpful, they can also be confusing. Do not feel that you need to know exactly what you are looking for-that is why our associates are always available to help! Again, give different styles and fits a try-you are not made to fit into a jean, the jean is meant to fit to you! This may mean a mid rise jeans works great for you from but a high rise works better for your friend!
